SCC (School Community Council)

Arcola families, we are always looking for members for our School Community Council (SCC). SCCs are made up of community and staff members who work together to support learning at our school! Last year, our SCC worked on making improvements to our school playground.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, September 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the school library. All are welcome!

From the SCC Handbook:

Every Regina Public School and High School has a School Community Council (SCC). These SCCs were mandated by the Provincial Government to replace parent teacher associations; school councils;  and home and school associations. A School Community Council is comprised of five to nine elected parent and community members from their local school community and four to eight appointed members (one less than the number of elected members), including school staff.
School Community Councils encourage active involvement in school activities and projects by community members. Additionally, School Community Councils work to identify ways to support the school principal and school staff in advancing the school’s Learning Improvement Plan.
