Dear Families,

As a very unique school year is winding down, there are a few items I would like to share with you.

The last day for students is June 29th. Progress reports and next year placements will be given to students at the end of the day. If you would like your child's progress report mailed to you, please provide a self-addressed, stamped 9x12 envelope to the office. Don't forget that students will be dismissed at 2:30pm on June 29th. 

To all our new kindergarten students and families, welcome to Arcola Community School! The following links will provide you with more information about the Kindergarten program at Arcola Community School. Registration forms and other school division information regarding Kindergarten can be found on our school division website. We are all looking forward to meeting you in person in September.

May 31, 2021 -- This past weekend, we learned the tragic news that new forensic technology had located the remains of 215 children on the grounds of the Kamloops, British Columbia, Indian Residential School. We have lowered all flags across the Division to show our respect.

We honour the 215 First Nations children and babies who were students of the Kamloops Indian Residential School that were recently discovered, on the property, in an unmarked mass grave. 

On Monday, May 31, we invite everyone to wear orange. Every child matters.

Arcola Community School is proud to be on Treaty 4 land. We are on the territory of the nêhiyawak, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis/Michif Nation. We are all Treaty People who have Treaty rights and responsibilities. 

Under the guidance of Jeff Cappo and Knowledge Keeper Gary Gott, Arcola hosted a flag raising ceremony on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
